Damascus Countryside, SANA - The first stage of the Syria Super Surf Speed and Drift Championship, organized by the Syrian Automobile Club and sponsored by the Tourism Ministry, kicked off on Friday at the Club's track in Maaret Sednaya, Damascus Countryside.
In the speed competitions, veteran racer Anas Qawadri came in first with a time of 1:19.62 minutes, followed by Baho Elias from Lebanon with 1:24.86, and Aysar Abu Hamdan with 1:34.27 in the special production category.
Meanwhile in the production car category, Muaz al-Mahaini came in first with a time of 1:24.50 minutes, followed by former title holder Iyad al-Afgani with 1:25.97, and Mazen al-Najjar with 1:27.57, while in the 1600cc category, title holder Zaher Dahkoul came in first with a time of 1:25.43.
In the drift competitions, Amr Hamsho came in first, beating Mohammad Krezan with a single point, and Ahmad Hamsho who came in third with four points.
