PAGADIAN CITY, 02 June (PIA)- Pagadian City will celebrate it's 51st founding anniversary on June 21 digitally. Thus, Mayor Samuel Co disclosed during the Laging Handa Network Briefing on Tuesday, which was hosted by PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar.
Under the present situation, Co said the city government cannot hold community celebrations because mass gatherings are banned due to concerns over the spread of the Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), thus the city tourism office decided to be creative by conducting old photo contest, digital art competition, video making competition, and feature writing contest.
"This is one way of recollecting the memories of significant places of our city even in the time of crisis. In these contests, we can celebrate our anniversary without having the physical presence of our people," Co said.
The contests will feature the historic buildings and places of the city, with the theme "Portraits of yesteryears, towards a new perspective for tomorrow," Co said.
The photo contest categories are the following: A) City Hall, B) City Plaza, C) Agora, D) Oval, E) Wharf, F) Airport Terminal, G) C3/Shopping Center, and H) Major Thoroughfares.
Pagadianons may submit their entries to the City Tourism Office together with the signed entry and waiver forms.
Deadline for the submission is on June 15, 2020. (RVC/GCC/PIA-Zamboanga del Sur)
