BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, July 15 (PIA) - The provincial government through the Provincial Tourism Office (PTO) in coordination with the Department of Tourism (DOT) is conducting a series of orientation to update and guide Accomomdation Establishments (AEs) on the regulations under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) status of the province.
Marichelle Costales, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer said part of their orientations among the AEs in the province is the reiteration of the health protocols to be observed during the resumption of their operations and services.
MGCQ status imposed to provinces, cities and municipalities allows the opening of AEs in compliance with the required health protocol guidelines due to the threat of the COVID-19.
"Our AEs are getting ready to operate under the MGCQ status and we continue to do our part to update and orient them on the health guidelines," Costales said.
She said that at present, they have already rounded AEs in the towns of Solano, Aritao, Bambang and Bayombong.
The MGCQ orientation is required before the AEs will be issued with a Certificate to Operate (CTO) by the Department of Tourism(DOT).
"This is a requirement before the AEs will resume their commercial operations as per DOT MC No. 2020-002 ," Costales said.
DOT MC NO. 2020-002 requires the AEs on observance and compliance to safety and health protocols to mitigate the transmission of the COVID-19 among tourism related enterprises.
Costales said that as of July, 16 AEs have been issued a CTO and more are in the process of securing their certificates. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
