MAMBAJAO, Camiguin, Nov. 23 (PIA)--The Camiguin Federation of Family Welfare Committee (Cam FFWC), an advocacy program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 donated 180 reams of bond papers in support to the "Bond Paper Mo, Module Ko Project," to be distributed to some schools under the Department of Education (DepEd) for the reproduction of learning modules for students in public schools.
The project aims to help DepEd-10 cope with the high demands of office supplies/bond papers required for reproduction of modules for students in the province/region.
The use of learning modules is now a mandate of public schools in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, in lieu of physical or face to face classroom classes.
According to reports gathered by the Northern Mindanao Federation of Family Welfare Committees (NM FFWC), DepEd could only accommodate 25 percent of learning modules per school due to limited budget on supplies which caused students to share or exchange modules with other students or classmates which make them vulnerable to possible spread of the virus.
In response to this call, the Camiguin Hotel Resorts and Restaurants Industry Tripartite Council and the Camiguin Tourism Association Chairperson Engr. Maria Victoria Jansol contributed 50 reams of A4 bond papers towards this endeavor.
Likewise, other Cam FFWC member-companies also donated 90 reams of bond papers, such as: Europace Incorporation Gaisano (20 reams), Camiguin Electric Cooperative (20), and Tee Enterprises (50). The bond papers donated by the Province of Camiguin can accommodate approximately 420 sets of modules for the students.
DOLE-X Camiguin Provincial Field Office Chief Emmanuel G. Toledo said the bond paper donations will be forwarded to NM FFWC to be turned-over to the Department of Education Regional Office for distribution to their identified schools/educational institutions according to their prioritization of needs.
Toledo said, with the projected donations on hand, an additional of 360 sets will be provided to identified schools/educational institutions.
Family Welfare Program (FWP) as an advocacy program of this Department introduces the concept of family welfare to establishments, instills family planning/family welfare consciousness among labor and management as a key in promoting workplace productivity and improved worker-management relations.
