HOUSTON -- Authorities in U.S. state of Texas on Sunday signed orders to temporarily stop power companies from sending bills to customers, after the severe weather and massive blackouts.
During a press briefing on Sunday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the recent spike in energy bills was "the top priority for the Texas Legislature right now," adding that he and other state leaders are working fast to find solutions to the issue. (US-Texas-Electricity)

SAN FRANCISCO -- Boeing Company said on Sunday that it supported the decision to suspend operations of 777 aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney 4000-112 engines after a Boeing 777-200 airplane suffered an engine issue on Saturday.

FAIZABAD, Afghanistan -- Four mine workers were killed and three others wounded in a mine collapse incident in Afghanistan's northern Badakhshan province overnight, a local official said Monday.
The landslide happened late on Sunday when workers were sifting for gold in a mine in Kohistan district of Badakhshan, Nik Mohammad Nazari, a provincial government spokesman, told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Badakhshan-Mine Collapse)

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally crossed the 11-million mark, reaching 11,005,850 on Monday as 14,199 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, said the latest data from the federal health ministry.
