LANAO DEL NORTE, Feb. 23 - The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) conducted their final inspection of the newly completed expansion of Tourism Function Hall in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte.
The project was constructed through DILG's Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) 2019 which was availed by the municipality for having passed the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) in 2019.
The expansion of the tourism function hall intends to attract and cater to more tourist visitors and eventually generate more income.
According to Kauswagan Tourism Officer Lonorhata T. Lucman, tourism is one of their priority projects since Kauswagan is known to be the province's home of the longest boardwalk.
"Because of this grant and incentive, we will see to it that we will challenge ourselves to improve more para hindi masayang ang naibigay ng DILG na opportunity sa aming municipality," she shared.
Other PCF tourism projects were also availed by the LGU. These include the Development of Municipal Marine Eco-Tourism Park (PCF 2011), Development of Municipal Marine Eco-Tourism Phase II (2013), Construction of Marine Eco-Tourism Park or the boardwalk (2016), and the Upgrading of Marine Eco-Tourism Park (2017).
The PCF program is an incentive given to municipalities demonstrating good performance in planning, transparency, accountability, among others. (DILG Lanao del Norte)
